Kamasutra is an old tradition, very rich and fulfilling in many respects and now it is being referenced as the father and mother of all the sexual plays known to man. In talking about these positions, two is the smallest number of participants while the maximum is open; because the setup determines the number and situation of each play. Three forms of lovemaking are mentioned here, vaginal, oral and anal sex. Vaginal involves the insertion of a male organ into a vagina; oral could be sucking and licking of the sexual organs while anal involves the penetration of the anus using a male organ.

The ordinary sex position is the commonest and quite abundant; this is the man on top while the woman lies flat on her back with legs apart. The partner lies on top, both knees and hands providing the balance for comfortable thrusts. The base of the male organ in this case rubs the clitoris in the process. Positions available where the receiving partner is on her back have many modifications. There is the butterfly position where the legs are lifted up and placed on the shoulders of the partner on top. Another one is where the legs are folded up to the chest opening up the vulva for easy entry and manipulation. Another one is where the partner folds her legs forming a lock at the ankle of both legs on the waist of the man. There are quite a number of variations that promote this position for the satisfaction of both partners.

There is the other alternative where the man is approaching from behind or the famous doggy position. Both can be used very well for vaginal or anal sex. The variations are many; the lady kneels while the man enters directly from behind. Another one the lady lies at an angle her head on a pillow while the bottoms are up for ease of entry from behind. There is a position where she kneels in an upright position with arms backward to hold one another tight. One may lie side by side and allow penetration when one leg is lifted. Another is where the lady lies down with a pillow on her pelvis to raise hips for ease in stimulation and penetration 

The position of the lady coming on top and controlling most of the thrusts follows. Here the man is down on his back while the lady has her legs spread and kneeling straddled facing the man or facing the opposite. She can squat, sit, hung while balancing with her hands etc. There is the sitting position where both can caress, kiss, squeeze and fondle many areas. Sitting can be on a chair, couch etc. There is the standing position which can be done anywhere against a wall. It can in the bathroom, kitchen etc.

Anal positions are just similar in many respects to the vagina penetration. There are quite a number of other positions that are available and ready to be practiced if one is daring enough.
